Jen Pfeiffer was born with wine in her blood. At 29 she is perhaps one of Australia’s youngest female winemakers but she takes it all in her stride, in an industry dominated by males.
Located in Sunday Creek, Rutherglen, Pfeiffer Winery is a family owned and operated business, committed to producing fine, handcrafted wines. The range of products includes crisp whites, full-bodied reds and internationally celebrated Muscats and Tokays; luscious and intense fortified wines.
Jen Pfeiffer began making wine at 20 and was perhaps was one of Australia’s youngest female winemakers in an industry dominated by males. Jen was four years old when her family purchased the historic “Old Distillery” property in Rutherglen, one of Australia’s oldest wine growing regions.
Jen worked on the 2005 vintage with the Saint-Charles family in Beaujolais, owners of Chateau du Bluizard, at Saint Etienne la Varenne. Jen is a passionate Riesling producer and aims to create a dry, mineral based Australian taste, and also to produce elegant and rich Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
