Jerry Mai began cooking around twelve years ago, after gaining inspiration from her mother's home cooked meals. Born in Vietnam but raised in Australia, her Vietnamese background influenced her strong passion for Asian foods. While she has worked with other cuisine over her career, namely Italian, Jerry is currently moving back to her origins through specialising in Asian fare.

Previously the original chef at Fitzroy's Red Rice, then at Lime Leaves, Longrain and Chi, Mai was also head chef at Seamstress Restaurant and Bar which 'has the funked-up Asian good and cool cocktail scene all stitched up'. Now at Gingerboy, Mai's dedication and passion for great food ensures that she consistently creates new and exciting dishes.
