"I'm passionate about cooking, I always have been. My first childhood memories trace back to skinning and smoking eel with my nanoo at Lake Colac. I love to work with my hands and know they were given to me to craft individual and distinct dishes to make you want to hand-feed the person next to you."
After completing her culinary course in South Australia, Melbourne-born Chef Katherine Lipic traveled back to the city she knew loved food as much as she did. Growing up, she was surrounded by European and Middle-Eastern influences and tradition, now evident in each dish she creates.
After working in reputable restaurants Grossi Florentino and The Melbourne Oyster Bar, Katherine sojourned to Butterfly Valley in Turkey where she gained invaluable culinary experience that challenged her beyond her imagination. On her arrival back to Melbourne earlier this year, Katherine was determined to begin the next phase in her life, and in July 2008, opened Little Zephyr Kitchen.
Katherine's endearing personality, passion for the freshest produce and heart-driven expertise are her signature amongst Melbourne foodie connoisseurs. Her continuous flair for innovation brings the community together to celebrate and share her greatest achievement – delectable food.
