Seona Fae McBurney

For Seona Fae McBurney, working in the organics industry led to a passion for seasonal produce, and the beginnings of a career in formal cooking through an apprenticeship with Phillip Johnson at Ecco Bistro in Brisbane in 2001. After two and a half years Seona returned to Melbourne to continue under Shannon Bennett at Vue de Monde, where she worked for over three years, and this was followed by a year at Fenix.

Currently at St Jude's Cellars, Seona also volunteers for the Kitchen Garden Project at Collingwood College, cooks for the Salesian Community in Clifton Hill, and is undertaking a Bachelor of Theology at CTC.

Motivated by the beauty of creation, Seona has discovered cooking to be a vocation, and expression of beauty and love.
